ALCMY's crochet accessories slip into a fairy tale

ALCMY's crochet accessories combine fairy wings, wire-framed ear cuffs, mermaid boots and miniature tea-set details in a surreal, nostalgic design world.
Founded by designer Boyoung Chun, Korean independent knitwear label ALCMY combines traditional hand crochet and knitting with the design language of stage costumes. Everyday yarn becomes an artistic piece with a story to tell, closer to surrealist jewelry than to a basic knit accessory, and worn the way statement jewelry is: as a character, not a finishing touch.

The label’s signature crochet fairy wings pair delicate openwork with a carefully shaped framework, creating crochet accessories that look light, organic and romantic.

For a collaboration with Coysio, the designer traces precise shapes in wire, then wraps them in loose, translucent yarn structures. The technique comes into focus in their “From the sea” collection: crocheted boot shafts evoke the rippling scales of a mermaid stepping ashore, while wire and sheer knitted structures give the ear cuffs the fluid movement of a sea creature’s webbed fins.
